Sarah E. Anderson is a professor at the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management at the University of California Santa Barbara. She specializes in how politics affects policies, particularly in congressional politics. She has published work in notable journals such as Nature Climate Change and the American Journal of Political Science. Anderson recently published a book on legislators' fear of primary voters and leads an interdisciplinary project on how wildfires affect government resource distribution. She uses innovative methods to quantify political phenomena, including analyzing the federal budget and conducting interviews with legislators. Anderson also serves as the Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the Bren School, where she works to ensure inclusivity in research, teaching, and service.
